A very meaningful “Last Hour” was spent on Good Friday, with readings, meditation and hymns, led by Reverend Dave. Afterwards we spent time enjoying fellowship, a cup of tea and hot-cross buns.
The Social and Fund-Raising Group were again busy with the Easter Trail, which was much enjoyed by those who came along. We are grateful to our young people who gave up their Saturday morning to sell raffle tickets etc. Eva, Arthur and Elliot are going to Kandersteg International Scout Camp in Switzerland later this year brought along their fund-raising stalls and were very pleased with the support they received.
Priory Pantry was very busy and the bacon cobs, hot-cross buns, Simnel Cake (which was a real treat) as well as the usual lovely cakes were well received. We were so pleased to see so many people at church for the Easter Celebration. Holy Communion again led by Revered Dave. It was a joy to see the youngsters as well. Easter eggs and refreshments were enjoyed after the service.
Once again, we are so grateful to Roger, the choir and his friends who entertained us on Monday afternoon. The soup was very welcome before the concert, as the weather turned to rain after the lovely sunny day on Easter Sunday. Thank-you to the soup makers.
We are pleased that the Easter Weekend was so successful. We raised much-needed funds for the upkeep of our church. Saturday Priory Pantry £237.90, the Easter Trail and Raffle £98.10 and the Organ Concert £264.00, The next “Pipes in the Priory” is on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May 2025.
